A clear aligner is an appropriate option for patients who do not want to have traditional braces due to self-consciousness. Many patients feel “too old” for braces and prefer an alternative that will remain slightly invisible.

Children may still prefer traditional orthodontics as they can pick and choose colors for their braces. Commonly children require much stronger movement of their teeth due to more severe malalignment of their teeth. It is achievable more comfortable with traditional braces as the archwires and brackets can place stronger forces on teeth to move faster.
 

What to expect after

After the completion of teeth alignment, every patient requires retention of the final teeth position. This may be in the form of a clear removable retainer to be worn nightly, or a fixed wire retainer cemented to the back of the front lower and front upper teeth. This is best discussed with your dentist as to which option suits you best.
